Son of Ra
May 16, 2008: Yesterday, in a speech to the Israeli parliament, President Bush made the rational and true observation that there are some people who want to negotiate with those country leaders who proclaim they are our sworn enemies, and to do so would be appeasement. Bush also went on to recall what happened as a result of Britain's Prime Minister Chamberlain meeting with Adolf Hitler. Apparently, Mr. Obama believes he is the son of Ra, or some ancient Egyptian pharaoh, in that the world revolves around him; and in that he immediately took umbrage with Bush's statement that it was a political attack against him. This guy is something else!
It seems as though Obama, like probably most of his supporters, doesn't have much sense of history. Of course, Chamberlain's "peace in our time" appeasement of Hitler is probably ancient history to those young folk.
To repeat what I have said in the past, and taking liberty with a quote from George Santanya - those who forget history, or do not know history, are doomed to repeat it. In addition, Obama insisted today that he did not state he would meet with those leaders without preconditions - another example of how the liberal fascist mind works - whatever they say is to be deemed as the sole truth, and to criticize what they say is not allowed. And this from a guy with delusions of being president. If this doesn't give you a strong line on what to expect from an Obama administration, should the country unfortunately come to that, I imagine not much else will.
